Guess this is the "big announcement" that's been rumoured for a while:

Durham, USA – May 24th, 2011 – Funcom is proud to announce the new content to ‘Age of Conan’ that will tie together the game and the upcoming movie, ‘Conan the Barbarian’. Set 20 years after the movie storyline, an epic new adventure pack – The Savage Coast of Turan finds players being sent by Conan, now King of Aquilonia, to aid his old ally Artus. The new adventure pack includes but is not limited to content from the movie, and allows players to follow epic storylines in Conan’s realm.

Read the full article on the Age of Conan Community website http://community.ageofconan.com/wsp/con ... le=CONTENT where you also find some concept art.

And also don't miss the interview with Craig Morrison on Eurogamer.net http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011- ... -interview where the Game Director reveals some more behind the scenes information.

I'm looking forward to August.

Not excited about the F2P stuff, maybe it will help get some life blood flowing into the game.....but they can't fix bugs this game has had since launch so not sure how they plan to support all the influx this may generate. Especially with their coding history.

My main's a HoX atm, so I know a lot about bugs, but performance is the key issue as far as I'm concerned. Every time I zone now, my fps drops to <5 so I have to exit game and reboot. I'm fine for a while, then need to reboot again. Chosain is virtually unplayable for me if I zone there.... though it's fine when I log off and back. Apparently, this is a common problem since the advent of Dreamworld, at least according to this post I saw on the EU forum:

http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=167060

I'm a die-hard player, pretty much addicted to the game, so I put up with the problem. But as the guy who posted the thread noted: "It would be a shame that the potential of attracting many new players got wasted by the 64 bit 4gig and below memory users experiencing drastic drops in game performance after trying out the game for an hour or less."
